If you are one of the “lucky one” who has updated his/her computer in last week Microsoft patch Tuesday on April 10, 2012 and installed this patch MS12-025 you may experiencing issue to print out certain forms to printer. The MS12-25 is covering vulnerabilities in the .Net Framework as this could lead to remote code execution. Microsoft has already acknowledged that there is an issue and posted the info in this bullettin:

We are now aware of an issue with printing from a [easyazon-link asin=”1590594398″ locale=”us”]Windows Forms[/easyazon-link] application. After the installation of these security updates, certain Windows Forms applications may not print, or may not honor specified printer settings when they do print. There is no impact on systems that do not use printing functionality from a .NET Framework [easyazon-link asin=”B000RH0EOS” locale=”us”]Windows Forms[/easyazon-link] application. The investigation into this issue is ongoing.

Workaround

To print from an affected Windows Forms application, print the content to a file on your computer instead of directly printing to a printer device. For example, print to a PDF, XPS, or any other supported format file. You can then open the file that you created and print directly from there.

There are potentially many applications affected by this .Net update and one of them is[easyazon-link asin=”B005S4Y13K” locale=”us”]TurboTax[/easyazon-link] – (now during tax season) and they have apparently issued already updates to fix this issues with their Turbo Tax software.
