I have removed my Hyper-V feature from my Windows 10 box and at the same time I have lost my Remote Server Administration tools for Windows 10 that I am using to manage my Windows Server 2012 R2 boxes. I simply went to grab and download the installation file again for RSAT , tried to install it and I got error message:
Windows Update Standalone Installer, Installer encountered an error: 0x80070422 ..”
Resolution is very simple:
- Go to RUN and type services.msc
- Once Services window opens, scroll down and locate Windows Update
- Make sure it is ENABLED and STARTED
- Once the service is up and running, try reinstall the RSAT tool
Once the Windows Update service is back and running, you will be able to reinstall the RSAT for Windows 10 tools on your Windows machine.
