Windows XP SP3 – cannot connect to SBS RWW

You have installed the Service Pack 3 on your MS Windows XP machine. Now when you try to access your SBS RWW you see this error message:

This portion of the Remote Web Workplace requires the Microsoft Remote Desktop ActiveX Control. Your browser’s security settings may be preventing you from downloading ActiveX controls. Adjust these settings, and try to connect again.

Here is the easy fix for:

1. Within Internet Explorer, open Tools – Internet Options – Programs tab – Select Manage add-ons
2. Highlight the Microsoft Terminal Service ActiveX control, which will be set to disabled.
3. Select Enabled – OK
4. Restart Internet Explorer.
