This is little annoying issue with [easyazon-link asin=”0735626863″ locale=”us”] Outlook® 2007 [/easyazon-link] and [easyazon-link asin=”0538475307″ locale=”us”] Outlook 2010 [/easyazon-link]. Basically I want to stay all received and unread emails marked as unread till I really read them and opened them. This way I do not miss any email that I have not opened and really read. If you touch new unread email in inbox it gives you preview but once I leave the message I want to see the message remain as unread till I double click it and really opened the email itself.
You have fix this behavior in Outlook itself.
Outlook 2007:
- Go to TOOLS
- Go to OPTIONS
- Click on OTHER tab
- Click Reading Pane
and now you can uncheck the 3 options available under this settings.
Outlook 2010:
- Click FILE
- Click OPTIONS
- A window OUTLOOK OPTIONS will open on your screen
- Select MAIL
- Select Reading Pane button under Outlook Panes
- now uncheck the 3 options and close the menu
If you prefer not to disable the reading pane settings as described, you still can mark your emails as UNREAD in inbox manually.
