Enable Cortana in Windows 10 to use Chrome instead of Edge browser

If you are one of the user who likes – Cortana, I am sure you were not happy to find out that you are not able to use different browser for searches. Cortana by default is setup to Edge browser in [easyazon_link identifier=”1491947179″ locale=”US” tag=”wn0d5-20″] Windows 10 [/easyazon_link] and Bing as a search engine for the voice activated searches. However by the time now there is a simple work around to enable Chrome browser to work with Cortana.

  1. Click Start
  2. Settings
  3. System
  4. Default Apps
  5. Scroll down to Web browser
  6. Select Chrome as your Default browser

Once you have setup Chrome on your [easyazon_link identifier=”B01BBDSQGE” locale=”US” tag=”wn0d5-20″] Windows 10 [/easyazon_link] as your default browser all you need is to install Chrome extension that will diverts searches to Google. One of the most recommended Chrome extension for this purpose with Cortana is Chrometana and another is Bing2Google.  Install the Chrome extension and next time when you are using Cortana for web searches you should see results in Google Chrome instead of Edge browser.
